The app is free. You pay only to call ordinary numbers.

There is no subscription, no monthly plan and no contract. Download MPower Space, verify your number and use it. If you want to call landlines and mobiles that are not on MPower, you top up a prepaid balance in USD and each call is charged per minute at the rate for that destination.

What a minute costs

Per-minute rates depend on the country and the network you are calling — a mobile in one country does not cost the same as a landline in another, so there is no single price we can honestly print here.

Rates depend on the destination and can change as our carrier costs change. Before the call is placed, the app tells you whether the number is on MPower Space (free) or on the telephone network (charged per minute) and shows your current balance. What the call actually cost appears afterwards in your balance history.

How one call is charged

There is no invented price below. What you pay depends on the per-minute rate for the destination you dialled.

Nothing else is added: no connection fee, no monthly fee and no per-call surcharge. A call that rings and is never answered costs nothing, and what the call did cost appears in your balance history in the app.

Open your balance

In the app, go to Settings → Call balance. Your current balance is shown in USD.

Choose an amount

USD 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Pay

Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Payments are handled by Stripe and your card details never reach our servers.

Your balance is credited

The new balance is shown straight away and is used the next time you call an ordinary number.

The rules, in plain words

  • No subscription, no monthly fee, no contract and nothing to cancel.
  • Calls are charged per started minute — a call lasting 61 seconds is charged as two minutes.
  • Your balance is held in USD, it does not expire, and it cannot be transferred to another account.
  • Calls, messages, media and stories between MPower users never touch your balance.
  • If your balance runs low, only calls to ordinary numbers are affected: a call is refused when you cannot afford a full minute, and a call already in progress is ended before it can cost more than your balance. Everything between MPower users keeps working.

Questions people ask

Is there a free trial?

There is nothing to trial. The app is free to use for as long as you want. You only add money if you decide to call ordinary phone numbers.

Do I need to pay for live translation?

No. Live translation is part of the app. It is included on free calls between MPower users and on paid calls to ordinary numbers.

Do I get a new phone number?

No. You verify the number you already have and it stays your identity on MPower Space, so other users see you by it. Calls to ordinary phone numbers go out on a shared MPower Space number by default. A second, one-time verification with our carrier — in Settings, under Caller ID — makes those calls carry your own number, so people can call you straight back on it.

What does a business account cost?

The business workspace — teammate extensions, the conference room, the answering menu and call forwarding — is part of the free app. You pay only for the calls your team makes to ordinary numbers.
